Description: Advanced Performing Chorus students have mastered vocal skills of Levels, 1, 2, & 3, who study challenging literature at high levels of proficiency. A certain amount of maturity of voice is required. Music Camp is mandatory for this level. Yearly tours and workshops are scheduled in the late Spring/Summer.

Director: Iris Lamanna

Accompanist: Vera Behreda

Performances: Participation in 3 to 5 scheduled performances per semester is required in addition to the annual Holiday and Spring concerts. Performances are of a more demanding nature than lower level choirs. Check your calendar for dates.

Performances can be any day of the week, although we try not to schedule many on Sunday mornings. Most performances are at night and on Saturdays. Since we are trying to reach other children with music and music education, we do several school performances during the year. Every effort is made to schedule these performances so the chorister loses a minimum of school time. Many schools recognize this as independent study. There are permission slips available in the chorus office and a cover letter explaining our organization.

Ticket Purchase Requirements: Each semester we have two concerts of our own, the Winter Concert and the Spring Concert. These are wonderful and inspiring concerts with each level performing and a mass-performance of all levels. Our audience is approximately 1000 at each performance and tends to sell out. You are asked to purchase 5 tickets each semester to these concerts. These tickets will be paid for in September and January and will be available for pick up approximately 6 weeks before the concert. By this time it will be determined which choruses perform on which date and extra tickets can also be purchased. You will be charged for these tickets whether or not you attend the concert. Do not be afraid to ask teachers, neighbors or anyone with a love for music and children. These concerts are very professional, and the audience is guaranteed to be touched and amazed at the accomplishments of the choristers and their music.

Poinsettia Sales (2006 pricing to be announced)
Each chorister family must sell 10 poinsettias with the proceeds going to the chorus. Each Poinsettia will sell for $10.00.
After your quota of 10 poinsettias has been met, the profit for any additional poinsettias sold will go into an individual account for the chorister to be held for tuition, touring and camp. The money will stay in your individual account as long as you are a chorus member. If you leave the chorus, any money will revert to the chorus.
Our hope is to sell to businesses, corporations, hospitals, and malls. If you make a large sale to a corporation, etc, you will take the credit (after your 10) the first year. The chorus will contact them directly the next year and there will be a percentage going to the chorus. Each year that percentage will increase. It is hoped that ultimately these buyers instead of parents selling and buying poinsettias will fund the fundraiser.
The poinsettias are a good quality, very full and long lasting. Everyone has been happy with them in the past.

Tours: Tours are strongly encouraged for Level 4 choristers. An international tour is offered every other year, and requires extra rehearsals.

Music Camp: Advanced Camp is MANDATORY for all returning and entering Level 4 chorus members. Because approximately an entire semesters’ worth of rehearsals is packed into these 10 days in preparation of upcoming tours and/or performances, there can be NO EXCEPTIONS. Students not attending advanced camp will not be eligible for Level 4 membership.

Dates are posted on your calendar and in the monthly newsletter.

Expectations: Expectations and demands are challenging in Level 4. Study and practice at home is required to learn the music.

Curriculum: Advanced literature and 4-part harmony. Continuing to emphasize foreign language pieces.
